Jill Negaard Transplant Fund
A Sharing and Caring Community

My wife, Jill Seggie Negaard, daughter of (Polly and the late John Seggie) was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1959 with a congenital heart defect. She has a large VSD (ventricular septal defect), an interrupted aortic arch and severe pulmonary hypertension. This condition has caused a progressive deterioration in her health over the years. Recently, after months of extensive evaluation it was determined that she is in need of a heart and double lung transplant. Jill and I live in Petersburg, Michigan with our many beloved pets: Einstein, Susie, Snowball, Fred, Daisy, Frank, Droopy, and Dolly are our Westies, and Pete Rose II is the out numbered cat. Jill is employed by Schindler Elevator Corporation in the Marketing Department, where she generates leads to the Sales Reps. for elevator repair, maintenance, and modernization. Over the years Jill has given much of her time and talent to help others. As a young girl Jill belonged to the Fort Industry Rainbow Assembly for Girls, where she was awarded the “ Grand Cross of Color” for her distinguished service to the organization. Jill and her brother John joined their parents “Clowning Around” for Clowns of America. “Jay Jay and Jelly Bean” used their magic acts to entertain at various schools and nursing homes. Jill and I joined the Bedford Jaycees as charter members, assuming the positions of Secretary and President respectfully. Through the Jaycees we participated in many fund-raising events to benefit local families in our community. Jill has had to curtail her activities now because of her shortness of breath and her need for oxygen 24/7. Funding a heart /lung transplant, even with medical insurance is a monumental task. A substantial portion of expenses will not be covered. These costs may include medical care, medicines, travel, lodging and meals. Fundraising is essential to the overall success of Jill’s struggle. Only with the financial support of family, friends and community can Jill achieve this goal. We would ask that you keep Jill in your thoughts and prayers. Please help make this life saving miracle happen by making a donation to the fund we have established with the National Transplant Assistance Fund (NTAF) for Jill’s uninsured expenses. All donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made to “NTAF Heart/Lung Transplant Fund”. In the memo section please print “In Honor of Jill Negaard” and mail it to: NTAF, 3475 West Chester Pike, Suite 230, Newtown Square, PA 19073. If you have any questions about the fund, or would prefer to contribute using a Visa, MasterCard, or American Express credit card, please call 1-800-642-8399.
