The details of Jill's trip to the Clinic and her heart/lung transplant.
November 21, 2004
Jill is one year removed from her transplant. Her kidneys still do not function
and she undergoes dialysis treatment 3 days a week at the Wildwood Dialysis Center in Toledo, Ohio.
But,
- She is able to fuction and do things she couldn't dream of doing before.
- She goes to craft shows and sells dog treats, fleece dog coats and bandanas.
She is also making blankets, hats and scarves. She is able to go up and down stairs and she rides an excercise bike.
- She plans to try to go to the transplant games this year, since she was unable to
last year do to her mothers health.
- September through October were bad months due to the passing of her mother in September and once
she had recovered from that, her cat Pete had to be put to sleep due to congestive heart failure a week or so later.
- But a week ago we got a pair of male kittens, they are black and white and
she named them Calvin and Hobbes. They are very loving and will be added to her about me pages once I have time.

Jill came home from the hospital today. She was taken in by ambulance on Sunday Jan 9 due to severe stomach flu. She is
now feeling much better. This is about the 5th time she has been hospitalized since the transplant. Being immune-suppressed
can leave you so open to illness or infection.

Jill starts home dialysis this week. If this is successful she will no longer go to Wildwood three
times a week, but instead have a small machine do the dialysis at home during each night. This will actually make it easier
to go places and do things since the machine is about the size of a VCR or DVD player.
When we tried this last summer she ended up with a severe infection and was hospitalized twice. We
are praying for better results this time.
